Planes of Fame Air Museum Presentation

The City of Santa Maria Public Library in partnership with the Planes of Fame Air Museum will host a presentation on Santa Maria’s future aviation museum. This event will be held Saturday, February 1st  from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Library’s Shepard Hall. The Library is located at 421 South McClelland Street.

The Planes of Fame Air Museum strives to build a world-renowned interactive center at the Santa Maira Airport to preserve aviation history, inspire interest in aviation, educate the public, and honor aviation pioneers and veterans. Presenter Jim Bray will shine a spotlight on the museum’s exhibits, educational programs, flight demonstrations and entertainment. The Chino-based organization has landed several approvals from the City of Santa Maria Planning Commission to expand the museum, in phases, to a 12-acre site south of the Santa Maria Radisson Hotel. There will be a question-and-answer session after the presentation.

Seating for this event is limited and offered on a first-come, first- served basis. Patrons interested in this event may learn more by visiting the Library’s online events calendar at www.cityofsantamaria.org/library or by calling (805) 925-0994 extension 8562.
