The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and the Recreation and Parks Commission invite community members and businesses to bring festive spirit by decorating their homes, lawns, and storefronts for the holiday season. This annual tradition of the Lights, Sights, and Holiday Nights contest spreads cheer and gives community members a chance to showcase their creativity and holiday spirit.
Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Best Use of Lights
- Best Lawn Display
- Best Holiday Theme
- Best Overall
- Best Business Window Display
Community members may nominate a decorated home or business from Friday, November 22nd, through Friday, December 6th, by 5:00 p.m. Simply email up to three photos of the illuminated display, along with the physical address and a contact number (if available), to rpinfo@cityofsantamaria.org.
Prejudging will take place on December 9th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and final judging will occur on Wednesday, December 11th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Winners will be recognized at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 17th, and will be highlighted on social media as well as on a digital map for the community to explore, allowing City residents to enjoy Santa Maria’s most festive homes and businesses.
