Businesses of the Quarter - July 2024

The City of Santa Maria and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce are partnering to highlight different businesses in the City through a Business of the Quarter Program. This program will, on four occasions this calendar year, recognize two local small businesses chosen by the Chamber. The criteria are: fewer than 20 employees; in operation for at least five years; physically located within the City Limits; and being a local Chamber of Commerce member in good standing. Not only does this give them valuable exposure, it also reminds the community of the unique, diverse, and long-standing businesses we are fortunate to have in Santa Maria.

The businesses for the third quarter (July-September 2024) are:

JB’s Jewelers is located at 323 Town Center West, Suite A in Santa Maria. Since 2009 it has been a family owned and operated business, and presently has three employees. The company specializes in jewelry repairs, custom designs, and most recently, precision laser engravings. They participate in Downtown Fridays and the Christmas Parade, and support the community with seasonal giveaways.

Tony Cravello Insurance is located at 801 South Broadway, Suite #15 (inside the Historic Santa Maria Inn). It was established around 40 years ago. Founded by Tony Cravello, Sr., the business has been handed down through the family and since 2017 has been managed by Anne Cravello. She provides a diverse array of insurance products tailored to meet individual and business needs, including life and health insurance. During the pandemic she prioritized remote assistance to clients, delivering groceries and helping the vulnerable. The company gives back by supporting local causes.

Businesses are chosen by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber. To nominate a business or ask about the program, contact Molly Schiff, Director of Advocacy and Initiatives  at the Chamber via email at molly@santamaria.com or by phone at (805) 925-2403 extension 816.

Jose Barrientos and Brian Barrientos (father-son) of JB’s Jewelers, accept a Business of the Quarter recognition from Councilmember Mike Cordero.
