Rescue Mission Alliance Central Coast (formerly known as Central Coast Rescue Mission) will host a fundraising dinner at First Christian Church in Santa Maria on Monday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. to benefit its new women’s program.
This night to remember will include live music, Santa Maria-style barbecue dinner from Nogues BBQ Catering, free childcare, and raffle prizes. All proceeds will go toward the Mission’s new women’s Life Recovery Program, projected to open in October.
“Hundreds of women a year have been asking us to provide services like these, as they are desperately needed in our community,” said Chris Rutledge, director of Rescue Mission Alliance Central Coast. “We are excited and humbled to be able to finally be able to provide them.”
“One of the most amazing parts of this story is the incredible donors and churches who showed support for this program, before it was even open! I can’t express how grateful I am for this community. This program will be for single women struggling with addiction or homelessness, many of whom will be escaping domestic violence or even sex trafficking. It will provide them a safe, comforting home to live in while they complete the 10-month program.”
The Mission anticipates these new services will add about $30,000 to its monthly budget. This benefit will help tackle the incoming costs. Tickets are on sale now for just $40. Sponsorships are also available at various levels.
First Christian Church is located at 1550 S. College Dr. in Santa Maria. For more information about the event, or to RSVP, visit ccrescuemission.org/fundraiser. Donations can also be made at ccrescuemission.org/donate.
