Unmet Transit Needs Workshops

Santa Maria Regional Transit (SMRT) is inviting the public to attend two meetings on Unmet Transit Needs and Title VI. The purpose of this workshop is to identify any transit needs that are not currently being met in the SMRT service area. Attendees can also make suggestions about SMRT bus services. 

Both meetings will be on Thursday, December 7th in Shepard Hall at the Santa Maria Public Library, 421 South McClelland Street. The first meeting is from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., and the second meeting is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Both meetings will be available to view live via Microsoft Teams. Those unable to attend the in-person meetings can participate via a Teams virtual webinar. Registration is required to attend through the virtual webinars.
 
For those who are unable to attend, but would like to provide comments, they may mail their comments to: the City of Santa Maria, 110 South Pine Street, Room 221, Santa Maria, CA 93458. Comments will also be received by email at smrtcomments@cityofsantamaria.org. Residents also may call (805) 925-0951 extension 1965 for more information or to provide comment. Comments are being accepted until Friday, December 15th.
 
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals needing special accommodations to participate in the meeting should contact SMRT at least three working days prior to the meeting at (805) 928-5624. These meetings fulfill the requirement of the City’s Transit Division that is responsible for public bus operations and bus maintenance that utilizes Federal funding. The draft working papers are available for public review at www.rideSMRT.org
 
SMRT offers transportation service within the City of Santa Maria and in Orcutt. Most routes connect at the Santa Maria Transit Center, 400 East Boone Street.
