Movies in the Park: Top Gun: Maverick
A free screening of the movie, “Top Gun: Maverick” will be shown on Friday, October 13th at Pioneer Park, 1150 West Foster Road. This is presented by the City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and the People for Leisure and Youth, Inc.
 
This 2022 action drama continues the story of Navy test pilot Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Maverick, after 30 years as a top Naval operator, returns to the United States Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor Program, also known as “Top Gun” where he must confront his past as he trains an elite group of younger pilots to destroy an unsanctioned uranium enrichment plant before it becomes operational.
 
The movie concession stand will be run by the Teen Leadership Key Club. The movie begins at dusk (approximately 7:30 p.m.). The complete list of upcoming programs being offered is available on the City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Social media accounts.
 

 
This is part of a broader set programs supporting the City Council’s goal of more recreation for families, and the Recreation and Parks Department’s goal to create opportunities for social engagement.
