New Programs at the Elwin Mussell Senior Center
The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is pleased to announce two new programs for adults 50 years and older, that will be held at the Elwin Mussell Senior Center located at 510 East Park Avenue.
It’s Scrabble Time is a great way for attendees to exercise their minds while expanding their vocabulary. This free drop-in program will be held every Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Game supplies and light refreshments will be provided.
Additionally, the new Older, Wiser, Living (OWL) Community Interaction Program offers attendees with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to learn social skills, engage with others and become more independent. Participants will also receive valuable information regarding the resources available to them as they age. This free drop-in program will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Elwin Mussell Senior Center has many more activities to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of the community. The services are a testament to the Department's mission to enrich the lives of the residents through quality recreation programs while anticipating the changing needs of the community.
