Featured Business of the Month: Mob Armor

Mob Armor was our featured manufacturing business for December 2021! Here’s some additional information about the business.

When was the business formed?
2014

How has the business grown?
Started in SLO then moved to Santa Maria in 2015.  Santa Maria was welcoming.  Thanks to warehouse space, fiber internet and manufacturing atmosphere/pro manufacturing attitude.

Current number of employees:
22

Describe how your business has innovated their product/service:
We started with rugged Smartphone mounts which then grew into tablet holders and enclosures.  Our customers are professional sports teams, universities, professional race teams, government agencies, enterprise and consumers.  We also developed our own Off-Grid IOS app for off Grid navigation.  This compliments all of our products.

Describe how your business has responded to periods of adversity:
Moving to Santa Maria was a great decision.  SLO was not easy to working with in terms of new manufacturing facilities and zoning.  COVID created challenges for our business.  We pivoted to manufacturing PPE  Face Shields and even specialized face shields for the dental industry to keep the doors open and employees employed.

Describe how your business contributes to the overall well-being of the community (contributions of time, money or resources, service and volunteer activity, leadership roles, membership in groups/boards/committees, etc.):
I volunteer my time with helping Victoria Conner of the Econ Alliance and Mentor with Cal Poly students for the Interdisciplinary Senior Design Project Capstone Class.  We donate to various local causes to keep our beaches clean and open to the public for OHV riding.

Please add any additional information you would like us to include when highlighting your business:
We currently have 2200+ resellers nationwide, 19 domestic distributors and 7 international distributors of our products.
