The Division of Research, Economic Development and Graduate Education at Cal Poly will be hosting a free webinar for the local business community interested in learning more about the process for securing federal funding support. We invite you to attend the webinar, “Tips for Success in Obtaining Federal Research Money,” presented by Glen Mandigo, President & CEO of Strategic Marketing Innovations (SMI), and his team. This webinar will provide an overview of federal spending for research and will discuss how you can be more successful in shaping opportunities and responding to calls for proposals. SMI works with university, industry, and local economic development organizations to ensure that innovative and creative ideas are properly funded. This presentation will be specifically tailored for the San Luis Obispo region and audience members will have the chance to participate and ask questions, following the formal presentation.
"This webinar will help local companies understand and create possible strategies for seeking support for research, development, and demonstration projects with federal partners such as the DoD, DoE, and DoT others. The webinar will have a specific highlight on the SBIR/STTR program, which provides non-equity financing for small companies. I am also looking forward the Q&A session following the presentation to identify industry collaboration opportunities with Cal Poly.” Jim Dunning, Associate Vice President, Corporate Engagement and Innovation, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
